Uninstalling error - .msi file missing

Hi

I am currently using a Windows 10 Desktop and have deleted the .msi file for iTunes. I cant uninstall the Apple Software Update through the control panel (This action is only valid for products that are currently installed) or through the Microsoft Install and Uninstall Program. When i try to re download iTunes, an error pops up stating my computer already has an updated version downloaded.

Please provide any assistance if you can.

Thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Start with Missing MSI errors.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling it may help to right-click on the setup file and use Run as administrator.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Hi

I have been unsuccessful after following the instructions provided. I do not have any system files related to itunes installed and i can't uninstall the apple software update app no matter what i try. When trying to install itunes the installer cant complete as it shows that i already have a later version downloaded of the Apple Software Update. Is there any way to uninstall this other than through the control panel or through the windows uninstaller helper referenced in other posts

Thanks
