How can you consolidate favorites into folders in safari

I am new to apple and IPad.I received it yesterday as a gift.I have used Kindles for the past several years and thought it was time.It is 2017 9.7 in model model ver 10.3.3(14g60)I will go one question at a time

then come back with the next problem In safari some of my bookmarks were imported but others not I would like mto organize them into folders eg.VA,Travel and others that are similar and put them in one folder.The book marks that open when I hit page with up arrow show folder that were imported some were added when I sent them to favorites

not knowing I could send them to bookmarks I just tried that and it went to favorites

I know I am geeting confused si I will stop there

  • Tap the bookmarks button in Safari on the top (looks like an open book).
  • Tap Edit (bottom right corner of the bookmarks pane.
  • Tap New Folder (bottom right corner) to create the folders you want.


To move bookmarks to a bookmarks folder, tap the bookmark (whilst in edit mode) and then tap the Location, you can then select a different bookmarks folder to place that bookmark in.
