How to stop titles from fading in iMovie

Hi, I've never asked a question on here so bear with me please... I've recently started using iMovie to edit videos I upload to my computer. Since I'm pretty new to this whole iMovie thing, I'm not sure how to stop titles from fading when I add them to overlay one of my videos. My iMovie version is 10.1.1, and since it's pretty recently updated I can't use tricks such as fixing this in project properties since it was removed in the update, and I've tried using the "add freeze frame" trick to the text so it splits into three different videos and I can delete the first and last which fade. However, this also no longer can be done with text because of the update. If any of this sounds confusing or dumb I'm really sorry, just a beginner trying to get the titles to stop fading in iMovie. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The freeze frame method will work with your version. You just need to make the title in another project on a green background, share it out, drag it back in again, and then apply the freeze frame to it like you would any other clip. After applying the freeze frame you trim back the fades on each side of the freeze frame, share it out again, and drag it into your original project. Then you can insert it over your clip using the green screen feature.
