How do I stop charges from apple about Dropbox? I keep getting automatic renewal and can't seem to cancel it.

It's still like that, assuming that you are using an iOS device. Or you can do it via Settings > iTunes & App Store, or on a computer's iTunes via the Account > View My Account menu option : View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support

I feel like a dunce, here, but I keep going to iTunes Store, scrolling down, and not seeing anywhere where I can select my Apple ID. Has the layout of the page changed recently?

I need to cancel my Dropbox account now
Go to iTunes Store --> Scroll to the bottom and select your Apple ID --> View Apple ID --> Scroll down to subscriptions
From there you can cancel it.
Not true, in the subscription page (only for Dropbox) are don't exist the option to cancel subscription
