How to Turn off CarPlay
I've got a new Nissan Rogue with CarPlay and an iPhone 6s. I connect the phone to the car via bluetooth.
CarPlay suddenly started working a few days ago. This had never happened before. I rarely listen to music on the car so I don't want this function working while I drive. I cannot get it to stop playing and would very much like some help with this.
So far I've tried:
- Turning off Cellular Data - didn't stop it. It only resulted in email and texts being disabled.
- Turning off CarPlay - Nope. Still keeps working.
- Turned off Siri - still plays
- Deleted Nissan Connect - still plays
- Updated the iOS - still plays
Only thing that works is turning off the bluetooth which means I can't use the handsfree in the car to make and receive calls. That's not an option.
I'm really not happy about this. I feel like Apple has decided I have to listen to their music and I have to be subjected to their marketing to buy more music and it ****** me off. I want to turn it off, enjoy my car in quiet and not have to fight a piece of electronics that's there to serve my needs, not it's needs. If I can't fix this, I'll switch to Android and ditch the iPhone all together.
