Greetings hannekefrommelbourne,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like the iPod touch is not responding. I would recommend you read this article and use it to help troubleshoot the issue.

If your iPod screen is unresponsive or shows the Apple logo

If you need help with the display on your iPod, learn what to do:

  • Reset your iPod. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo. If you see the Apple logo, connect your iPod to your computer and make sure that it shows up in iTunes.
  • If you don't see the Apple logo or your iPod in iTunes, try to connect it to iTunes and restore.
  • Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
  • Don't wear gloves while using the touchscreen and make sure that your hands are dry.
  • If you have a protective cover on the touchscreen, try to remove it.
