I RESET MY MACBOOKPRO HARDISK BUT WHILE INSTALLING OS HARDISK IS LOCKED HOW TO UNLOCK HARDISK

I bought a used MacBook and I wanted to do a factory recovery. I restarted and held down command + R. I went to disk utility and erased Mac OS extended journaled. I restarted and I clicked on reinstall Lion OS. when I click on the hard drive and it states Hard drive Locked, I am unable to do anything.

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

See if this discussion helps. If not and if you have another Mac available, I'd next try building a Sierra installer on an external USB device, and plug that startup disk into the problem Mac and then choose that startup disk to try to boot the problem Mac, and perform a disk erasure and installation from that.

If none of that works, maybe check with the local Apple Genius Bar (if there is one in your area), or I'd contact the seller and request assistance or a refund.

I'm here assuming macOS Sierra will boot on whichever Mac this is. If it's an older Mac that's not supported on Sierra, you'll need to download and boot a release that is supported by the Mac.
