Your reply got me looking at the issue again and it turns out there is a way to look up from the GLA. However the original issue still persists.
Turns out you can look up from the GLA by just typing the start of the name in the ''to'' field and it will search the GLA and offer suggestions ''found on server''. So there is a way but i find it odd that the plus sign on the right side of the ''to'' field does not look up even though it seems Mail is indeed capable of searching the GLA. Maybe it has a different purpose
I have to say that the way this works actually turns out to be easier to use then Outlook on Windows OS as there you have the extra click to open the GLA search.
I have been testing to see if this MBP can replace my windows laptop in a windows dominated office and am still getting used to trying things i normally would not and looking to replicate what i can do in outlook for example. So far i love it though.
