MacPro i7-4870 CPU frequency problem.

Hi All,

i7-4870 CPU is working on 0.78GHz. My bootcamp (windows 10) is really working slowly! i changed also power plan to high performance but nothing was changed.

If this is when you are watching with nothing running in the foreground, then you are looking at the CPU speed when it has throttled down. Depending on how power management has been set the CPU may operate over a wide range of speeds. This is common.


If you think there is a problem then you need to make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. This is a hardware issue. There isn't anything you can do to fix it.

Your question implied OS X. If you were talking about operating in Windows, then I don't know anything about what is happening in OS X. Remember that some Windows system applications may not work correctly due to differences in OS X hardware. You have not indicated that you have installed the Windows' drivers for Boot Camp.


What you have described would suggest a hardware problem were it for OS X.
