There are no such devices for scanning/converted physical slides and photographs to ANY mobile devices, much less Apple iDevices.

What you are asking to do with just an iPad/iDevice is simply NOT possible, at this current time.

A service can get your images scanned and corrected and put onto an SD card that your iPad can access if you purchase the iDevice camera connection kit from Apple.

You would need wa slide scanner and a computer to import the scans, then sync them to your iPad. Scanners cost from less than $100 (poor quality) to thousands of dollars.

You could also use a mail-in service that will scan the slides for you, then send your a DVD of the scans, or make them available online, so you can download them from there. Depending on scan resolution, the cost is usually about 30 to 50 cents per slide, although most companies offer "bundle" prices.

You can google for both options.

You can pay a photo service to convert your slides to digital images or if you plan to try this yourself, there can be a lot involved.

You need a computer and image scanner that has a high enough resolution capable of scanning 35mm slides OR a specialized film/slide scanner to scan your slides.

You need some sort of image editor on your computer to do any needed image editing like cropping or clean up of any dust, dirt present on the slides that will appear in the scans of the slides.

This is not a quick process!

It involves some time and knowlegde of scanning to get quality image scans, initially, and image editing knowledge to do any clean up work and to turn these slide images into larger, viewable images on a computer or mobile device.

The amount of knowledge to accomplish this is beyond what anyone can post here.

Internet searches on how to do this you will need to do and research.

You might be better off just paying a professional service to do this for you, if you have no real clue of what you are doing.

Good Luck to You and to this Future Endeavour!

Thanks for replying I used to edit and enhance photos when I had a laptop but now only have an IPad so was hoping to use some sort of scanner / converter and then enhance via an app realise that would not be as good but was hopeful but am coming to terms with the fact that this may not be possible using only an Ipad

Back in 2005, my late father paid my daughter (generously) to scan all of his slides dating back to the 1950s. He bought a Nikon slide scanner for about $500. It worked beautifully. Very simple for my daughter, then 16, and I to set up on the family computer and for her to run. The high-resolution TIF scans turned out beautifully. I made JPG copies of many of the ones from my childhood/youth ('60s and '70s) to be able to view on my iPad and iPhone. Very satisfied. I used to take slide pictures back in the late '70s and early '80s, so I also paid my daughter to scan those.

There really was not a "lot involved" in doing it. We sprayed any dust off of the slides before scanning, and did very little other than some color adjustment, using Photoshop Elements, to the images afterward, because the slides had been well-cared for over the years. It did take quite a bit of time, because

Lacking a computer, a professional service is probably your best bet. Expect to pay up to 25 cents per slide, though some services will do it for as little as 10 cents each for large orders. Not sure of the quality of the cheaper scans.
