How do I dictate a space character?

I dictate in iOS, but I imagine it would be the same for OS X. When you put a word in parentheses, you need a space to follow before the beginning of the next word. Could someone tell me how to insert one using dictation? Thank you.

When you want to insert a space, simply say “spacebar.” If you say the following:

“cat spacebar leftparen dog rightparen spacebar period” you will get

Cat (dog) .

See the Dictation commands list if you don't already have it. You should not assume that dictation on iOS is identical to dictation on macOS. Different platforms with different user presentation.
