Can I add sheets within a sheet in Numbers??

Actually, the OP asked specifically about "sheets…within a sheet" and confirmed that by adding "(It) would be useful if I could break each sheet down further (into sub-sheets)."

'Clicking the " + ", as suggested in your post, adds a new Sheet at the same level, not a 'sheet within a sheet' as requested by the OP. Copy/Paste is similar.It adds a new Sheet with the same contents as the copied Sheet, but again, this is not a 'sheet within a sheet' as requested by the OP.

SG's response to your post provided information pertinent to the OP's question: Sheets can contain tables (and other objects, but they cannot contain Sheets.

Numbers has Documents (or worksheets) which contain Sheets ("tabs") which contain Tables.

You can have multiple Sheets within a Document and multiple Tables on each Sheet.

The big + upper left adds a Sheet (tab). The Table icon in the Toolbar will add a new Table on a Sheet.

What version of Numbers are you using?

In the current version, select a sheet (tab) then click on the " + " to the left of all tabs. The new sheet will be added to he right of the selected sheet.

You can also copy and paste sheets by right-clicking on an existing sheet.

The OP asked specifically about sheets.
