Home location on Maps is wrong. How to change it?

If I go to My Card in contacts, and click on the Map button that appears near the right edge of the window next to my address, the pin that appears on the map is in totally the wrong location (about 5 miles away). This makes it useless for getting directions home. I cannot see any way of correcting this. Any suggestions?

I have 2 neighbours in my contacts as well. If I click on one of them, the pin is about 20 miles away in the opposite direction, and clicking the other neighbour says 'No results found' in maps. We all share the same UK address with the same postcode, but different house names. There is no street name or number around here.

Pins
Choose View > Drop Pin to mark your spot on the current map. You can use these pins to help you remember places or plan your journey. You can also use them to mark a destination you want directions for. If a pin isn’t exactly where you want it, put the pointer on it and hold down the button until the pin “hops.” Drag the pin into place, then release the button. To see additional options for a location, click the pin and then click the info ℹ button in the menu that appears.

Shortcut Menu
Control-click a map to display a shortcut menu with additional options.

  • Drop Pin: Drop a pin on the current map view to mark a particular location.
  • Get Directions: View directions from your current location to the location you clicked or pinned.
  • New Window at this Location: Open a new, separate Maps window focused on the location you clicked.

Yes, I can find the Postcode, which represents houses along about 400 yards of road. The centre of the postcode would certainly be a whole lot more accurate. There are about 3 different postcodes in our small village. Just searching for the village also finds it.

I do not understand what the maps feature of Contacts uses to place the pin, since the apparent same address (i.e. all bar the "house name") gives 3 different results.

The pin cannot be dragged. It does not move. This is not surprising since it is not 'my' pin, but one generated by the system.

When I click the map symbol in Contacts, the Maps app is opened with the pin showing, and a large blue spot exactly covers my house - it knows where I am.

The pin has a label with 2 lines of information - 1) the name of a business located right where the pin is, 2) the name of a larger town about 1.5 miles further on (not the name of the location where that business is).
