I'm having the same issue immediately after updating, my phone won't connect to Wi-Fi at all. I can only connect by turning off wifi and using cellular.
This is ridiculous. I'm so mad to see this issue has been around for 2 weeks with no solution!
Actually, that is not the same issue at all as the others are reporting. If you cannot connect to wifi at all, then you have a completely different issue, perhaps even a hardware issue of some kind.
Still there the problem? Because i have the same. Suddently, maybe after last ios update to 10.3.3, my wifi disable when my iphone 6s locked. It happens to all wifi networks that i try it. cellurar data is on, low power mode is off.
Still very much there... and it will be until apple support come up with a 10.3..4 or 10.3.3.1 update that hopefully fixes the issue. My iPhone 6 ability to switch from wifi to cellular network was flawless before the update. Working at home with a good wifi network and goIng out to places always with wifi too, I would never switch off my cellular and spend nothing of my 2GB package as wifi will always take over.
Now even staying at home, I must have it off all the time as whenever my phone screen lock, wifi is disabled and cellular takes over and my package is gone.
Furthermore, once I unlock the phone, it takes quite some time to reconnect to the wifi signal, very long.
So basically, you can never receive your messages: SMS, emails, viber, whatsapp or whatever when your phone is locked screen mode... very boring... unless you have unlimited cellular package of course, which is not my case.
Not a good vibe for upcoming iPhone 8!!! Or intended move?
I have 3 other iOS devices at home, I have told everyone not to update to 10.3.3!
I came across another website where people actually try to help with problems and don't just try to tell you that you don't know how your own phone works or worked for that matter.... here is the link:
That's exactly my problem described in details there, which I believe is yours too.
It seems some people there managed to recover their wifi connection behavior after a hard reset of the phone as a new device all together. I have not done so! Just sharing with you. Got so many data and settings in the phone... don't know where to start. And the problem is that if ones full backup and full restore afterwards, problem might just returns to the phone as well. I guess high probability there.
If two devices after the update shows same symptoms its definitely a software issue. I am betting on that. I am not the only one with the same issue after the update. It wont be solved until apple address it .
Apple senior support advisor did run diagnostics on my phone last night, declared it fully OK and actually claimed wifi dropping is a feature not a bug.
So wifi drops intentionally to save power even though battery is full and device is on charger.
Wifi does turn on intentionally to perform iCloud backup etc during which you will receive notifications of course.
My experience was different before 10.3.3.
I posted a detailed report to the apple feedback site.
Probably a use case they missed: traveling abroad with no data roaming.

As has been mentioned numerous times already in this thread. People just refuse to believe it. Wifi has always cut out when the device is on battery and the screen locked.
And now we’ll get numerous further posts saying this is not so. But in fact it has always been so.
iCloud backups will occur automatically only when the device is plugged in, since when plugged in to an external power source, wifi stays on when the screen locks.
I think that you don't understand my mention! Anyway as i had already said there is no reason to fill this post with no usefull message, so thats my last message and i look forward for someone who want to help.
Dude. The two devices i am referring 1 belongs to me and one SE model of my friend. We both facing same issue after the update. So stop being an apple fan boy and try to understand there is some serious glitch in this particular update.
Its just commonsense when two perfectly working device got messed up after the update, then the culprit is the update.
And to the people saying this is a feature of iOS, its not. Do a ping test for iphones working with iOS 10 or 9. Wifi wont drop when its locked. Verified by myself. This is completely annoying. I came here looking for answer but this thread has become a place to show they know better than anyone else.
There is an issue. Period.
Its hard to argue with egoists. 2 is not a trend. But out of the handful iphones i have access to, say 10, if 2 is affected then its a trend. A simple google search will show similar threads explaining 10.3.3 issues. I never mentioned all the iphones are experiencing this problem. Something is making this conflict. We are here to figure out what is the common factor in these affected phone.
You are the one creating useless reply threads here. To understand that you need little commonsense. Just because you dont have an issue doesnt mean there isnt a glitch.
Even one is a trend where it matters. Please leave this thread. So many people have issues and trying to figure out.
Every one of the over 1 billion iPhones sold has always dropped WiFi when the phone goes to sleep, unless it is connected to power. It will reconnect for 30 seconds if the phone receives a notification or push email alert. However, it will NOT reconnect if an app on the phone attempts to use data; the app will use cellular data, or, if cellular data is not available, it will wait until the phone wakes up. It does this on 10.3.3 certainly, but it also did it with every version of iOS since 1.0. Your experience was not different before 10.3.3; you are misremembering, or didn't notice.
No. You are wrong. Wifi will stay on even in locked. May be in iOS 7 or before your arguments may be correct.(There are apps to keep wifi active like "Constant wifi" just to overcome this issue back then but later iOS changed this option to constant connection) .Do the ping test and you will get constant feedback. The affected iphones will drop wifi immediately after locked.
Test it by yourself instead hanging on to your theory. I am doing this test with various iphones i have access to. Only mine is dropping the connection.
Dear kollamraku, I have seen your few comments sent to 'die hard apple fans' with a smile on my face first but then, after they go on and on, it really become tiring. Suggest you don't bother replying to them because obviously they don't have the problem we face with their device (at least not yet) and they have time to waste.
Meanwhile, did you try hard resetting your phone? I mean setting it up again as a new device (after doing a backup before of course)?
I have tried everything else but that to fix the issue....
Still there is a 30 min window for timer. Our issue is wifi drop immediately after screen is locked. these 30 min theory is logical to save power. But immediate drop of wifi (say 10-15 seconds) after lock is never been a feature of iOS.
Did you even read the last, bolded and italicized part of that quote from the developers document? The minute the screen locks, ALL wifi access apps are considered "idle" and lose their wifi connection. That is exactly how it has always happend, how it is supposed to happen, and how iOS is coded to work.
Persistent wifi connections require the device have the screen unlocked, or be connected to an external power source (the connection of an external power source forces iOS to suspend the wifi time-out function altogether, keeping the wifi radio powered on all the time, until the power connection is disrupted and battery power resumes)
