Can I use Apple credit from gift card to pay my monthly Apple Music bill? If so how do I stop Apple from charging my checking account beforehand?

Ok so I redeemed it. Obviously it’s not for full amount of monthly bill. Do you happen to know if they will just take the remainder out of checking as usual? Thank you 😊
1. If it's an iTunes Store gift card, yes. If it's an Apple Store gift card, no.

Your balance should automatically be used for your purchases, if that doesn't cover the price of the item only the extra should be charged to the payment method (e.g. credit card) on the account
Yes, the gift card will be taken first and if the card do not cover the cost, the remainder if any will be taken from your credit card.
