Bootcamp Windows partition not connecting to Wifi

I am using a 2008/2009 iMac and Windows 7. I have been using Windows 7 on this Mac with wifi for a couple years now without apparent problems, but last week my Mac wouldn't boot up (stuck in endless loading at grey screen) (Windows side did boot up and appeared fine). Long story short, the Mac drive was corrupted and I ended up having to erase my Mac HD, reinstall the OS (I stick with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on that computer), and restore my files with a Time Machine back-up.

Now having done that the Mac side seems to be back to normal, but the Windows 7 now will not connect to the Wifi. It is also running slow. I tried uninstalling broadcom as was suggested in another discussion and doing the hardware scan. Broadcom reappeared on the list but my wifi connection did not return. Any ideas?

Here is a screenshot of my Network Adapters in Device Manager:

and some details for the Broadcom driver:

Loner T,

I am really sorry for not responding for awhile, I really did appreciate your help. I ran into a new problem that made my old one irrelevant, and I have been nervous about turning on my computer since then.

My Mac suddenly developed a horizontal black line running across the screen, which soon developed to two lines, and has progressively gotten significantly worse every time I turn on the computer. I suspect it is a GPU error. My iMac, in addition to being old, had been running quite hot (especially on the Windows side) and probably has a lot of dust in it that I can't get out with compressed air.

I think the only thing I can do now is take it to a shop that can repair it and hope they don't charge too much. If you have any other suggestions though I would be happy to hear them.

Is the WLAN Autoconfig service set to start Automatically? The EAP is specific to Secure SSIDs, so it is unlikely to address your issue anyway.

If you switch to macOS, are you able to connect the SSID which you want to?

In the 4.0.4033 drivers directory, you have two sets of drivers, 32-bit and 64-bit. Remove the current driver, and run the 32-bit executable as shown in this file structure and test.

Thank you for your response, I am sure I installed all of that when I first set up Boot Camp. Like I said, I had been using internet on the Windows side successfully for awhile now. This morning I downloaded and installed Boot Camp Support Software 4.0.4033 because it supports my version of Windows (Windows 7 32 bit) and my Mac. It was probably already installed from the first time I set up Boot Camp, but I tried it just in case. The installation was successful, but the situation hasn't changed, I still can't connect to my wifi.

I only see the option to connect to a wireless network, it never asks for id or password or shows any SSIDs available. I just click on that option, it very briefly does a little progress bar and promptly returns with "Windows wireless service not running on this computer."

I did a search on that error message and came up with this Microsoft Community forum post. I followed those directions and found that I got another error message ("Windows could not start the WLAN AutoConfig service on the local computer. Error126: The specified module could not be found") when trying to hit the "Start" button as indicated in the procedure.

So I searched that error message too and came up with this post on The Windows Club. I followed that procedure, rebooted, and tried again to hit that Start button for the WLAN AutoConfig service. Still didn't work.

I saw another forum post that suggested this:

"try this. i had the same issue with WLan and EAP and i fixed it:

(goto Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services) then make sure this services are automatic and started:

CNG Key Isolation.

Remote Procedure Call RPC, and

Remote Procedure Call RPC Locator.

DCOM Server Process Launcher.

RPC Endpoint Mapper.

Network Location Awareness.

After u have started all those services and turned as Automatic start up then select

EAP(extensible Authentication Protocol) and right click set it as Automatic,

and start it. and then the same with WLan Autoconfig."

I did all this, but the error persists.

Can you set the autoconfig service to Automatic? Go to an Admin CMD window and run

netsh wlan show all

and post the output. Here is an example.

C:\Windows\system32>netsh wlan show all
