Installing Xcode command line tools and Integrating with atom.io

I am a new mac user 😀.

First, I am on a macbook air and Xcode 4gb+ is too much for me.

I am using C/C++ and Java (will learn Java after sometime) in programming and I am familiar with the gcc functions in Ubuntu terminal.I want to use atom.io as my editor and a simple compiler like ubuntu.

Please help me Install and integrate atom.io with a compiler.

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12.3)
