iCloud Photos corrupts windows and breaks Ctrl Wheel zoom

I recently noticed that photos zoom (Ctrl+mouse wheel) stopped working in windows explorer.

Then I noticed that after rebooting windows it works, but the moment I double click "iCloud Photos" Ctrl+Wheel stops working completely regardless if it's iCloud Photos or any other explorer folder. iCloud Photos simply corrupts windows and kills this shortcut.

How can i get rid of this irritating behavior? I'm l'd like to be able to sync photos to my pc automatically, but if this thing keeps corrupting my windows in this way I'm ok to uninstall it completely, but before that I'd like to know if this can be fixed.
