I am buying a new Apple TV box and want to view my photos stored in the Photos tab in iCloud. I will have the Apple TV box connected to the WiFi. I would like to have them scroll to the screen like a slide show or screensaver but I would like for them to come up in Date order. Is that possible? When I view photos in a normal PC screensaver they show up in a random order. Thanks for any advise.

Screensavers and slideshows are very much different things. Screensavers are for when your Apple TV has essentially been forgotten, they show a limited random set of photos. Slideshows, on the other hand, display all photos from the selected source and can be shown in various orders including chronologically.
Sorry, I think that may be incorrect. To the best of my knowledge, photos in shared albums are organised according to the order the photos were added to the shared album. Only photos in regular albums created in the photo library are displayed in chronological order.

I was looking in iCloud on my PC in the Photos tab under an album and don't see anything about playing a slideshow? So the screens you show would be on my TV coming through the Apple TV box, correct? I just want to make sure that if I buy this new Apple TV box, that it will do what my wife really wants to see which is her photos of certain iCloud albums shown in chronological order.
Yes, those are on the TV, but to be more specific those albums are viewed via the local network connection to my Mac (where the photos are stored rather than via iCloud. iCloud Photos Library doesn't actually have a slideshow function and as pointed out before iCloud shared albums aren't chronological.
However, in additions to the various ways, Apple provides for displaying photos the Apple TV has dozens of other apps available that also do photos.
You might get an idea from these (not so good) photos.
You would have to go through shared albums, the screensaver only (temporarily) caches a small amount of photos but you can create a slideshow to view the full album.
Thanks, Winston. So, to be clear since I don't have an Apple TV box yet, to your understanding, if I view photos in an Album via my Apple TV, they will be seen on my TV in date order?

They will be in date order whether you view them in an album or not if you view them from the iCloud photo library, so long as you view them as a slideshow and not a screensaver.
Sorry to have to keep coming back with follow up questions. Is there a good link to show a someone new to iCloud and Apple TV how to create a slideshow and then how to view it?

You don't create slideshows as such, you just choose an album, select slideshow to select your theme, time settings and so on and then select start.
OK. I think I'm gonna spring for the Apple TV and just start playing with with. Thanks for all your help.
