mail print freeze

Since the last OS update (I am at 10.12.6) I have twice experienced a freeze when trying to print in mail. This has happened on two different Mac's - one desktop iMac, late 2012 and the other a MacBook Pro laptop with the touch strip. Both are up to date on their software updates.

What happened on both machines - in Apple Mail - is that I was trying to print an email. I clicked the print button, got a print screen, the email content window was labeled with a box that said "generating content to print", but it never went beyond that point - even though I waited over 5 minutes. When I tried to cancel the print request, it would not accept either a cancel or a print request. I had to go to Force Quit under the Apple menu to quit mail. I wasn't able to quit mail from the regular Apple file menu - the quit option was greyed out. However, the Force Quit menu didn't show mail as "not responding".

After the force quit, I was able to reopen mail and print the various email I was trying to print before without problem.

I am posting to call attention to a potential problem in the newest update. The fact that it happened on two computer systems that are so far apart in age is a concern. Also, one machine is my personal, home computer and the other is my work computer.
