I recently bought an iPad Pro 10.5" and cannot find where to turn on the smart cover auto sleep / wake function. On my iPad Air it is under Display & Brightness but there is no such option on the Pro. Is there something that I must do to activate this setting? It's a 256GB WiFi modeL on iOS 10.3.3.
Please help!
I have the same iPad, you're in the right page.
Not sure why you're not seeing it. Are you using a smart cover?
Try rebooting your device:
On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Maybe iPad waits to sense a magnet to enable this setting.

I prefer this semi transparent case to Apple opaque case as you can see the iPad design through it. Magnet works on front to lock the iPad and on rear to attach for book mode.
I want to buy a Moshi Versacover when they become available. I am not using a case at the moment. I tried to test the auto sleep / wake with my iPad Air's Versacover and when it did not want to work I started looking for the setting to turn it on and then found that I do not have that setting at all.
I did the reset as suggested but the setting is still missing.
I know of the Moshi case you speak of very well, as I used to use it for my previous iPad Air 2.
I purchased my iPad Pro 10.5 over a month ago. I needed a case for it as I use for work and it travels a lot to from work in a harsh environment.
As apple nor Moshi didn't offer a case and besides Apple's being super expensive, I thought this would be a good fit.
I actually prefer to get the Zagg slim aluminum keyboard if it ever gets made for this iPad, but in the meantime, this case is awesome. I hardly use my iPad in portrait mode really.
Hi danielfromport elizabeth. Just to confirm, iOS does not show the Lock/Unlock option unless a compatible cover is attached (open, of course).
Thanks for the case suggestion. I want a case that also has a portrait mode. Does this case have a portrait mode?
