Microsoft Word- Cant find saved file on MacBook Pro

I created a regular word document on my MacBook Pro. I went to save the document, I clicked the "Documents" tab after it popped up asking where you wanted to save your file. Now, I can't find my file anywhere. I've tried every folder, the Finder, etc... The only way I was able to reopen it was to go to "recents" in Word. When I tried to save it again, it said the file already exists. BUT WHERE IS IT?! HELP!

Thanks you!

Have you used Spotlight to search for it, make sure documents is checked in System Preferences> Spotlight> Search Results.

So when you have the file open in Word and ask to Save do you get a dialogue box showing up like this. You can click the blue arrows on the Where to get the path of where the file is saved.

Or if you click the downward arrow on the Save As field you get an expanded Save window where you can navigate the folder structure to find your file.
