Is the iphone 6 susceptible to sweat?

I'd like to know how susceptible the iphone 6 is to sweat. I had it for one day and went for a run - same as I've always done with my iphone 4s.

That was yesterday. Last night the screen went blank. Died. No other plausible explanation. Had the iphone 6S for one day and it died. Not honored under warranty. $299 repair.

Very disappointing.

It is not water restitant nor sweat resistant. Sweat is highly corrosive (mainly because it is highly conductive being full of salts, proteins, lipids and so forth) so if it got inside the device or all over ports and contacts it can easily cause damage.

I use supposedly sweat resistant BT headphones when I workout to listen to audiobooks. Despite the sweat resistant rating of several makes and models over the years, I’ve not had one last a full year. Eventually, the seals and such wear out or break down and the sweat just corrodes the heck out of the electronics.

So yes, you should protect most mobile electronics from exposure to a lot of sweat.

The question should not have been "is the iphone6 susceptible to sweat" I should have asked the question a different way as in

Why IS the iphone 6 MORE susceptible to sweat than the iphone 4?

I had the iphone 4 for 2.5 years and never had an issue. I used the iphone6 for one day and it fails due to moisture from working out. Clearly there has been a change in either the manufacturing process or the design that allows moisture from the body to infiltrate the phone. That Apple knows about this (check the threads and Google it) and has chosen to not only not fix the flaw but to also charge $299 to repair is outrageous.

A. I don’t know that it is more susceptible than any other iPhone. Internet forum posts are a horribly unreliable measure of such things. And your personal experience is an N of one, so I simply don’t know if that statement is true or not.

B. “Why” is never a technical support question that any fellow user here can ever answer. If you feel you have a claim with Apple, then you need to take that up with Apple.

C. There is always an element of random chance with moisture damage and electronics. Sometimes, things merely conspire to meet some perfect set of elements that leads to damage. Sometimes it doesn’t. When you’re talking about single instances, who knows?

A. Apparently you do not realize the irony of your post. This is an internet forum and you are asking me to rely on your answers? Really?

B. I did take my claim up with Apple and they would not honor it as their was "water damage" apparently from my ear sweat?!?! Seriously - the Apple employee told me my ear sweat cause the phone to fail.

C. I can see that this question/forum is getting nowhere. It is a circular discussion - I ask if/why and you tell me that there is no evidence. Lots of help.
