New iMac - if I install Logic Pro 8 can I upgrade freely to Logic Pro X?

I am thinking of buying a new 21.5'' iMac. I have the Logic Studio 8 software bundle (with Logic Pro 8, etc.) in a box of CDs and would like to know if, after installing Logic Pro 8 from the CD, I could upgrade freely to Logic Pro X online.

No. There aren't any upgrade discounts for Mac App Store software.
