Teamviewer hangs with "Pasting from ..." Message on host

I'm using Teamviewer 12.0.78517 on two OS X 10.12.5 machines. Periodically my host machine will have a notification "Pasting from " followed by the client computer name. This brings up the dreaded OS X "beachball" and both systems hang for a minute or two. What is this? How do I fix it? Thanks

iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS Sierra (10.12.6), (Late 2014)

I know this is an old post but I found a possible solution.

How to avoid clipboard issues with Teamviewer

Step 1 – From the Teamviewer Home window, Select Extras | Options

Step 2 – Select Advanced | Click on button “Show advanced options”

Step 3 – Scroll down to option “Clipboard Synchronization” and uncheck this option

Step 4 - Close and Re-open any existing Teamviewer Connections <------Close existing session and reconnect for this change to take affect.

I use TeamViewer too and I experience constant problems when using Copy/Paste. TeamViewer has done nothing to fix this. I send in crash reports every time. I've sent in hundreds.

BTW, you should be updated to 10.12.6. Be sure to backup first as some users have had issues when updating.

If you don't have a clone backup it's time to start. Just like a seat belt and an air bag protect you in different ways when driving, you need both Time Machine and a clone for full protection.

Create a Clone backup:

A clone is an exact bootable copy of your internal drive. Unlike standard copying of all files to another drive, the clone software copies hidden files along with other in-use files that are not available when you copy over files to another drive.

Software used to Clone:

Try running this program in your normal account, then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

@dianeoforegon: I'm using 10.12.6 since it came out. I backup with both Time Machine as well as an overnight incremental backup AND a monthly offsite swap of the incrementals. I have all my data safe, and I'd rather start with a fresh OS if I ever did have to restore. The thing is I'm not copying or pasting. The screens are just sitting there and the message appears... I went back to "Back to My Mac" as so far it's more reliable. Thanks for your comments.
