Hi I'm FinePok,

If you want to use your iPhone 4s as a music player for your car you will need to download music to the device to listen to while on the road since I imagine you will not have an active cellular plan on the device anymore. You can do so by becoming an Apple Music member and following this article Add and download music, shows, and movies from the Apple Music catalog - Apple Support

If you do not wish to be a part of Apple Music you can still add music to your device using iTunes on your computer by following this article Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

Once you have music downloaded to your device you will simply need to connect your phone to your car via bluetooth or an AUX connection. If your unsure how to connect your phone to your car's bluetooth follow this article Set up and use third-party Bluetooth accessories - Apple Support

Congrats on the new phone. Enjoy the ride!

I guess I already knew that part of the equation, what I was not sure of is if there was a way to "make" the phone work only like an iPod. So the answer to this would be no. It is a phone. So what I did was reset the phone, erasing all personal information on it, and rebuild it as a NEW PHONE. Then using iTunes and sync ONLY my music collection to the newly named phone. That way it will not have any personal information on it, and add it to my 'devices' collection. Now I can leave it in the car (until I want to add new music to it) and not worry too much(!) about it being in the car...

Thanks again, it just took me a little while to accept the facts!
