Java fails
Hi folks,
I'm sort of a newbie into Apple OS X, so throughout the summary don't expect me to use the right terms.
Can't remember if Java was installed by default or not, but long story short, and after several attempts to remove and reinstall java for the 10th time I gave up. Can't get it to work!
My macbook is running Sierra 10.12.6, and I have got installed the Java version 8.144.
The installation doesn't thrown any error at all, but when I browse to the portal to test my Java version (Verify Java Version) it always results on the following:
After this, and more importantly, sometimes I also notice that there is a Java process using 95% of the CPU, which leads to high temperatures on the body of the laptop.
Also, another thing which for me is a bit strange, is the fact that if I run "Java -version" on the command line, it shows that I'm running version 1.8.0_13 which doesn't match what the Java plug-in (shown above) lists.
Have any of you guys come across any of these issues? do you know perhaps how to get around these issues.
Thanks.
