Late 2013 vs Mid 2014 vs Mid 2015 macbook pro?

Hello all,

I am looking to get a newer model of a used MacBook pro. I am looking at those years listed on the subject line. Can you guys provide me your experience or suggestion of which year to get?

I know all of those year are Retina display. I'm seeking for a minimum of 16gb ram and i7.

1. What year would your recommend to get?

2. Does it have known issues or bad display or hardware issues?

3. can I upgrade the hard drive for larger storage?

4. Can I replace the battery on my own?

5. what are the difference between them from year to year?

6. If I plan on getting the 15inch, is it worth getting the Dual Graphic version model? does it make a big difference in resolution?

Please let me know. THanks

Hi Getangar,

I did read about it and see the difference between them but I want to hear from the community who has those particular year and model. I want to find out anyone here experience any problems with hardware and display. what about battery lifespan?

Can any of the year/model that I can upgrade the Hard drive to a larger storage? I know the RAM is soldered so I cannot upgrade so that is why I am shooting for 16gb Ram right off the bat.

Thanks

Hello Terence,

Im planning to use the MacBook for some games and photo editing. but mostly for photo, surfing the net, word docs/excel and videos.

I want to know if there are any known issues for the years made that I may run into later. Also, which year/model should I gauge towards for getting so I can upgrade the hard drive later. Can these years/models we can upgrade for the hard drive?

Thanks for the feedback.
