Why are images no longer available in iMessage

Running IOS 10.3.3, and up until yesterday I was able to search for and send images in iMessage. Now it is no longer available even though the red #images is there. When you try to search for an image, it says "no suggestions found" What happened to this function and when will it be back?

So it's not just me. Exact same thing here. Worked fine last night and today when I try to use the #images app in iMessage I get "No suggestions found" even for images I searched for and used already. I tried all of the suggestions from other people including rebooting the phone, disabling and re-enabling #images in the app drawer. I'm on iOS 10.3.3 (which was updated before last night) and it states my software is up to date. I hope Apple can fix this quickly.

It's very odd. I too updated the software maybe a week ago, and the function was available. My husband and daughter also don't have it any longer so it's system wide I guess. I've tried everything people suggested also with no luck. I finally downloaded Giphy from the app store, and that seems to work fine for now, but it does require an extra step.
