I usually like to hide my cursor when I'm reading web pages by pressing up or down on the keyboard. I restarted my macbook and I'm not able to hide it anymore. It also doesn't disappear whilst watching full screen videos. Haven't updated or changed anything besides to automatic updates on restart. It's a small thing, just really annoying that it happened out of nowhere and I can't find anyway to change it back.

I can't imagine what would cause that, but:
Try resetting the NVRAM: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063.
Try booting into Safe Mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 and see if the issue persists there.
Try the F8 key.
Just thought it would be worth a shot....

Cursorcerer will do this for you, and it is free. You can set a keyboard combo to hide the cursor, or a timer to hide it after a certain period idle.
