Hi. I want to update my wife's MB Pro and would like to know how far up can go with Mac OS, Sierra, El Capitan. She has Lion now.

If you go up to these new humongous 64-bit systems, 4GB RAM will be a bit tight, especially with big bloated applications (yeah, MS Office... I'm referring to you!). Consider upgrading up to 8GB, which is the max. that model can take. Specs are: 2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
