headphone volume going up automatically on macbook air

I have a new MacBook Air, all software updates have been done. When I plug in my Samsung earbuds, and when I am on a call, or listening to music, the volume increases to the highest levels - automatically.....it is very irritating, and bothers my ears. I reset it and after a few minutes, it does it again, and again,....you get the picture. What is going on? It has been doing this from the day I got the device. Love the MacBook, hate that issue. It disrupts my calls......

Hi,

You have 90 days of free phone support, so I'd give Apple support a call. That way, you should be able to find out if it's a hardware issue and you need to send it in for repair or bring it to an Apple Store. Note that if it cannot be resolved without repair, and you're within 14 days of purchase, I would opt for getting a refund or exchange, as who wants a brand new already repaired MBA?
