Bluetooth playback of Voice Memo recording is choppy

When I play back a voice memo via a bluetooth device, the audio from the voice memo is "choppy". On the playback bar, it almost appears as the memo is skipping back and forth through the audio file, but it makes listening to the memo impossible. For example, if I record something that says: "Beginning mileage on Thursday is 45342", when I playback the audio I hear: "Beg.. milea... rsday... 45... 2... 3... 42...". I have tried this on multiple bluetooth devices with the same result. Also, if I take it off of bluetooth and play either through the phone speaker or the phone earpiece, the audio quality is fine.

Can anyone provide any assistance for this issue? Thank you.

Hello refereechad,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to play recording from the Voice Memos app on your iPhone to Bluetooth devices, but they play as expected on your iPhone itself. If you haven't already, please force close the Voice Memos app and restart your device as iOS clears cached data and does other system optimizations when you turn your device off and on.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If your issue still isn't resolved, use iTunes on your Mac or PC to backup and restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Temporarily setup your phone as new and record a new recording in the Voice Memos app to test your issue, and then restore your backup and test the issue again.
