Erase via what?

Generally on a Mac, 'erase' means to destroy all the bits on the storage medium, including the operating system, applications, programs, and user data.

On a Mac erase does NOT mean factory reset.

Are we talking about erasing the boot disk? If so the Mac will no longer boot. There will be nothing to login to. No operating system, no apps, no user data, no pictures, Nothing, Nada, Zilch.

If you are talking about restoring to factory software using the link I provided, then the first time the Mac boots, it will go through a new system setup, creating new accounts, etc... There will be nothing on the system, except what would normally come with the Mac when it was brand new.

Hi Bob,

I am talking about Erasing through "Find My Iphone" and Erase. I am not sure if it will erase the boot disk with remote erase.

I logged into my icloud account and and I have Erased the MacBook. I am just after knowing what happens if someone logs in with activation code. What would they see? Would they be get hold of personal data or not.
