Remove purchaser name and purchase date from metadata

Howdy y'all,

If you select a song purchased from the iTunes Store and go to Get Info -> File, you can see fields for "purchased by" and "purchase date".

How do I strip out this metadata so that the song just looks to iTunes as "any ol' random audio file"?

I've tried putting the file through MediaHuman Audio Converter, but those metadata fields persist through the conversion.

Thanks, that works!

(Note for readers: the "Create AAC Version" command uses the encoding settings in iTunes menu -> Preferences -> General -> When a CD is inserted -> Import Settings. If you want to convert to a lower bit rate (or higher, for some reason) than the source, tweak these settings here.)

Is it also possible to strip out the copyright metadata, e.g. "℗ 2015 Aniplex Inc."? If not in iTunes, then perhaps with third-party software?

Oops, my bad. There's no extra step to strip out copyright metadata. The aforementioned "Create AAC Version" will strip that out.

If you select the converted song go to Get Info -> File, the copyright info still appears; however, if you open the audio file in QuickTime Player and go to Window menu -> Show Movie Inspector, the copyright info will be gone. You can also hide the copyright info in iTunes by removing the song from your library and re-adding the file you just removed.
