Not sure what lock you're attempting to say the issue is, but my guess is:
Activation Lock:
You must have access to the Apple ID that is locked on the device. The device might display the Apple ID as 'e*****@gmail.com' which is a reference to the Apple ID locked on to the (it is not accurate to it length for security and privacy reasons). If you don't have the Apple ID access then you must contact Apple Support or an Apple Store with a proof of owner to unlock the device, but you'll won't be able to ever use the Apple ID again (which includes backups).
