Screen Grayed Out When using LaCie 5Big

Using Mac Mini with fusion drive; LaCie 5Big, and NEC PA272 monitor. Recently, monitor grayed out upon launch when connected to 5Big; okay when 5Big switched off. Problem happened gradually over the last two weeks. Tried new Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. This system has worked effectively for several years, so something has changed, and I can't figure it out. Thank you.

Since the 2012 Mac Mini only has one Thunderbolt port, then you are pretty much stuck chaining the monitor thru the LaCie enclosure. If you had a new Mac Mini with dual Thunderbolt ports, then you could test it with the monitor on one port and LaCie on the other.

For starters, try resetting the SMC and NVRAM to see if either of those help.
