Hi,
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) and it no longer holds it's charge like it used to (used to be 8 hours and now it is barely 15 minutes!).
Can I simply replace the battery with a new one? My Macbook Air runs fine when it's plugged in....we just need it to hold it's charge! 😉

It isn't designed to be easily replaced by a user. You can have it replaced by Apple or an Authorized Service Provider. See the following for information on service by Apple: Mac Service Answer Center - Apple Support

Or, if you're at all handy, you can get this top-notch battery (Replacement Batteries For 13" MacBook Air 2010 - 2014 Models) and replace it yourself (MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 Battery Replacement - iFixit).
