Why itunes shows the longest tag info is 255 charters?

My itunes's version is 12.1.6.25.My iphone 6s's soft version is 10.3.3.

First ,I select 'Get Info' for the mp3 file in itunes:

Second, I edited the artist title. I inputed the artist title more 500 charters. After that,'OK' is pressed.

When I 'Get Info' for the same file again,the artist title is 256 charters.

My answer is: Whether it has a relevant specification for the relevant agreement?
