iDVD stops completely during final encoding stages...

So I want to burn my project to DVD, I click the Burn Button, evertying works great until It reaches the "audio encoding" part. That's when the "burn icon" stops spinning, turns solid yellow and black. And the the cursor "rainbow wheel" appears and starts spinning. I left it like this for up to 40 minutes and it doesn't change! It stays the same. Like frozen! this is very frustrating! what do you guys think is the issue here?

I want to echo everything others have said, thanks to their help I finally solved my problem which has vexed me of over 2 months.

I had a 55 minute video (old home movies, no moain soundtrack),loaded with music, some sound effects and a few transistions.

I let it run its course and it appeared to fail everytime in iDVD.

I was told:

1) set the Mac to never sleep

2) some problems occur with music purchased direct from iTunes (my solution was to burn those songs on a CD and load them back into iTunes, the format is a little different and it saves time and space without effecting the sound quality)

3) It is best to save to disk image (you can burn as many copies as you want at anytime without having to re-render)

4) Time is on your side! When you get the "beach ball" on audio encoding and Force Quit says iDVD is not responding, don't believe it. It is working in the background even though it appears as if audio encoding has failed. For my 55 minute video it took 38 hours to burn it to an image file.

Therefore it really does work. Good luck!
