How do I remove an old iTunes/Apple ID from my new iphone. I have two accounts, cant remember the old password. I need to get this old one off my phone.

iPhone. I need to remove the old Apple ID account that I have. Can't remember the password. It is causing conflicts on my new phone. My new Apple ID account has synced, but the old one can't sync because I can't delete it. Four updates continually are trying to sync to the old account. HELP.

I have an old email address in my iTunes account that I wish to delete or inactivate. How do I do that?

You can only be signed into one Apple ID at a time on the phone. Furthermore, you cannot delete an Apple ID. You can sign out of it and quit using it. Apparently you are already signed out if the newer one is working for you, so all that you can do now is to delete the apps that are under the old ID that keep requesting the update in order to get the message to go away.

Yes. To explain a bit further, I have no idea how this particular email account was linked to my iTunes Store to begin with: it isn’t one I use. But since I’ve gotten my new iPhone, it keeps popping up asking for the password for this email account, even though mine is actually in use. So I can’t sign out of this one or delete it as it is not my email account.

I saw this very same thing on my sister-in-law‘s new iPad Mini last year when she restored from a backup. The iTunes Store was requesting the Apple ID password of an Apple ID that she knew nothing about.

I’m sorry, but I can’t remember how it got resolved, but I know that she had to get Apple Support involved in order to fix it. We tried returning the iPad thinking that it was a refurb or it had been returned, but the same thing happened on the iPad that was exchanged. It had to be something weird going on with iCloud since she was trying to restore from an iCloud backup.
