delete empty pages folder ipad

I had reorganized and renamed a plethora of folders for PAGES documents on my iPad and now have a slew of "Phantom Folders" under the old names that I am unable to delete. Is there anyway to get rid of these folders? I am not terribly happy about having to scroll through a long list of folders that clutter up and slow down my search if I download a document to my iPad.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

Hi.

Pages user guide: https://help.apple.com/pages/mac/

Also:

Delete a folder

You can’t directly delete a folder. Instead, you empty it by deleting or moving its content, then the folder automatically disappears.

  1. In the document manager, tap the folder, then tap Edit.

  2. When the documents begin to jiggle, empty the folder by doing any of the following:

    • Move a document to another location: Tap the ones you want to move, then drag them to another location.

If the folder contains other documents to move or delete, tap it again. If no documents remain in the folder, tap Done.

    • Delete documents: Tap the ones you want to delete, tap User uploaded file, then tap Delete.

If the folder contains other documents to move or delete, tap Edit again, then move or delete them.

When you move or delete the last document in the folder, the folder disappears.

When I went to PAGES on my iPad The "Phantom Folders" initially seemed to have cleared themselves off of my iPad only to find they reappeared after about 60 seconds. (I assume this might be from the cloud, but am not sure)

I remain stumped by this and am still hoping to find a solution. I did try your suggestions to no avail.

Again thanks for your helpful suggestions.
