how to set up a new iTunes iphone backup without erasing my iphone

Hi, community.

I feel kind of dumb but I can't figure out how to go about the following:

Problem is I have encripted iphone backups with iTunes and don't have the passcode. So I cannot use them.

On the other hand, I also have iCloud backups (double authentication, that may discard some options) , plus my iphone is in perfect condition: That is, I still don't have a problem.

But... I'd like to be able again to do (and restore if the time comes) iTune backups in my Mac plus icloud backups, so I am on the safe side.

The solutions I read to reset the iTunes encripted backup password kind of tell me I have to erase my iphone and restore it from icloud. This I a risk I don't want to incur on.

Of course I also have my appleid user and pw working ok (I thought it was the same for iTunes but looks like it is not). So if I can identify myself to apple as the legit owner, ¿isn't it a way to reset my iTunes pw for new future backups?

Thank you

MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), C02J504UF57H

No, you can't restore from your iTunes backup if you don't know the encryption.
