I am a teacher in a school and for some reason, even with third party software, we cannot show presentation from a Windows PC or Android onto the Apple TV. I have used AirParrot and AirPlay. What do we need to change in setting to be able to connect other devices apart from apple to the Apple TV? Devices are all on the same WiFi Network.

Read this Apple Knowledge Base article on how to turn on 'Conference Room Display' then use Airplay to display to the Apple TV. If the device(s) you are using are unable to use Airplay then Apple TV cannot display the content.

If you are ferrying tp mirroring then you can only do so natively from a Mac or IOS device. It would require 3rd party software to attempt to do so from the devices you are using, if there are issues you would need to contact the developer and/or use the support tools for those programs.
I have this exact same issue. I am able to connect from my windows 10 pc to all of my Apple TVs on my home network via both iTunes for airplay streaming and using AirParrot2 (3rd party software) for screen mirroring. However, at school, my pc won't recognize the presence of the Apple TV that is set to conference room mode. I can connect to the school Apple TVs from my iPhone, iPad and Macbook. Process of elimination indicates that Apple TV conference room and Windows 10 aren't compatible for some reason.

Hi RobF. Is your PC on the exact same WiFi network as the Apple TV? AirPlay uses the Apple Bonjour protocol (multicast DNS) for discovery, and these messages only propagate a small number of hops. Also, if you're using Active Directory on your PC, it also uses mDNS, but differently, so it conflicts with Bonjour. Check with your IT person to resolve this.
It's interesting as with AirParrot I can connect one day, exactly on the day I re-installed the program. Then the next day it no longer connects. I can connect my Android phone with a third party software.
Reread the OP message. She is using AirParrot, which is the exact 3rd party solution that you suggest. This isn't the issue.
I suggest you reread my post, I simply said that native mirroring isn't supported and the issue is with the 3rd party software.
In your case it is likely an issue with the network blocking access.
Hi Bianca_CSB. Sounds like you have a problem with AirParrot. Is AirParrot a licensee of the Apple AirPlay protocol? Or have they just partially cracked the code?
