Would iCloud storage survive an Electromagnetic Pulse attack?
Would the files I upload to iCloud Drive or other Apple cloud storage systems survive an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack? I have in mind the EMP resulting from a nuclear weapon detonated over the United States or near a datacenter housing Apple's cloud storage servers.
In contrast, if I store my own hard drive in a bank vault an EMP would not harm my hard drive since the very thick steel of the vault and the metal safe deposit box would shield it from this potentially destructive electromagnetic wave energy.
Is Apple currently considering methods to fully protect its clients' cloud storage from EMP attack given the recent threats from North Korea and elsewhere?
Thank you.
