I too have a Mac Book Air that I have had for less than two years. I have had zero problems with it up until last week. I took it to an authorized Mac repair store and was told my logic board was charred, and indicated to me that there was no outside damage of any sort and wanted to charge me over $600 bucks to repair it. I literally just paid $1000 for it not even two years ago. I just spoke with Apple and they will not repair itwithout paying the out of warranty fee. I think this is crazy, it took a lot of convincing to get my husband to spend so much on a laptop for it to not last. Ugh so frustrated right now.
Apple provides a one year limited warranty on their products.
Apple One (1) Year Limited Warranty
Apple also provides additional coverage if you wish to purchase it.
What you appear to be asking is how can anyone sell anything if it can potentially break? Since the terms we agreed to include a clause to avoid discussions regarding Apple policy which would include why Apple would sell a product that could potentially have a problem at sometime or not you would need to ask Apple

It has nothing to do with a design issue. (All) electronics and moisture/water do not mix well. Here are the specs from a Macbook Air which include the relative humidity:
I am using other devices of Apple like i-phones, i-pad in India for last 3-4 years in same environmental conditions/ relative humidity. Is Mac book Air is more vulnerable to relative humidity as compared other devices?
Having supported a number of desktop and laptops for longer than I ever anticipated and from every vendor you could imagine the answer is:
No. The MacBook Air is not more vulnerable to relive humidity as compared to other devices.
Please remember that you are arguing your point with other users here. We are not Apple employees and we are not privy to Apple's design nor any other policy decisions. You would need to take this to Apple.
As per diagonisis and discussion with Apple authorised service centre that the MacBook Air logic board can also be affected by humidity even in air conditioned room. I believe humidity is more controlled in air conditioned room. The same issue is encountered by other users of MacBook reported in the community. I have used other computers of different brands for ages and never encountered the failure of mother board due to relative humidity in India. It is very difficult to believe that MacBook mother board will be crashed post 7months of expiry of warranty. Therefore, Apple needs to look into the customer issue, if not already taken corrective/preventive actions.

The answer is No.

You can believe whatever you want, it does not make it true. Weather can be affected by humidity, migration patterns can be affected by humidity; corrosion of most metals can be affected by humidity. If you are making the case that the device failed because even in an environment where an A/C was limiting humidity then you assume that the condenser on the A/C is working properly. Can you state without a doubt the compressors ability to function which can be futher diminished by hot or excessively humid weather was sufficient to transfer out humidity? Moreover; were the BTU's efficient to keep an area the size of what was climate controlled effectively cooled? Was there a coolant leak? Was there a structural leak?
Nothing you've stated so far lends any support the conclusion of anything other then total assumption on your part.
If your A/C is not working properly and it damaged your device then you need to take it up with the manufacturer of the A/C, or as stated early you had the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty and you didn't, you went with the standard warranty which also from working with other manufactures is very generous from Apple to begin with. If the cost of this extension was outside of your reach then you could have tried another manufacturer but not too many offer a warranty for 3 years, some don't even offer 1 year.
And what exactly are the corrective/preventive actions you engaged in if you care to elaborate?
Hi Jimmy,
First of all Apple Service Centre could not show me any water spillage/ corrosion mark on the part. It is their assumption out of their experience on the issues encountered on MLB. How come you concluded that the fault was with my air conditioner not the design or quality fault of MLB used by Apple? I could have gone for extended warranty or would not have choosen to buy MacBook if I would have known that potential risk is involved with MLB of MacBook Air. Thanks for sharing idea of extended warranty anticipating potential risk of Apple products.
I didn't conclude anything. These are questions as to how you arrived at your deduction. An extended warranty can be useful on a great many thing. I installed an HVAC in my house last month, I paid for an additional 5 year warranty which would pay for the compressor alone which just failed in my last unit - hot air, very humid.
My question is whether the same problem encountered by other users due to design issue. If so, whether Apple will offer free replacement/repairing.
As I said, telling us - other users - will not help. If you wish to address this with Apple, you need to contact Apple.
