I do not need the Sidebar, I find it a nuisance .
Is there a way of losing it permanently please ?

Activate a Finder window or the Desktop. From the View menu select Hide Sidebar option.
if you are trying to hide your sidebar in your finder window.
1.open a new finder window.
2 click view in the top tool bar
3.scroll down and click Hide Sidebar
What Sidebar in what program?
1.open the finder.
2.hold your pointer over favorites in the sidebar on the top left hand side and the word hide will appear.
3. click hide
Thanks, but the word Hide does not appear.
Also, how do I empty the Sidebar please ?
I cannot drag them out and the red "Remove" square will not appear.
How do I get rid of the Sidebar permanently ?
