I have a Garmin Vivoactive HR which allows me to use gps to track a walk/run, it then will overlay this onto google earth. Does the apple watch series 2 offer anything like this?

I have an Apple Watch Series 2 and a iPhone 7plus.

You can do this with the Activity app, after you complete your run and it is synced to your iPhone, open the Activity app, tap on the workout you completed and there will be all the information about the workout as will as an inset map. Tap on the inset map to open Apple Maps with your run on it.

You can also look at the apps Map My Run or Strava if you don't like the way the Activity app does it.
