Getting error -52 on iTunes when trying to sync

I'm having problems trying to sync my iPhone 6 plus in iTunes. I have the latest versions of both Windows 10 and iTunes. I am getting an error message which says "The iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-54)." When I troubleshoot through Apple support I am told to update my iTunes and computer and try again. I have done this with no success. Any suggestions from the community?
