Google Calendar widget not appearing, how do I make it appear?

I'm using the latest version of the Google Calendar app which supports widgets, but the option to display the widget isn't even there in the today view of the notification.

I attached a screenshot of what it looks like. The option to add Google Calendar doesn't even appear, but it should because the app supports widgets. I'm using iOS 9.3.5 and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, resetting my phone, and logging in and out of the app and nothing seems to be working.

I'm using the current version of Google Calendar 2.7.0. According to the version history, the Google Calendar widget was added in version 2.4.0 so I should have the widget but I don't which is weird. Also to edit my widgets I have to swipe down and do it that way because I'm using iOS 9.3.5 and I think that's different than your version.
